“El rostre de les oliveres”, in the Fundació Setba

You certainly have tried to find shapes in clouds several times, but have you ever tried it in the trunks of trees? The responsibles for the exhibition “El rostre de les oliveres” did, and have collected some photographs in order to show you what time, at a very slow pace, can do to the bark of olive trees.

Incredible shapes born after hundreds of years of rain, wind, cold and Sun, an example of “slow art” in which you will be able to see how a tree’s trunk can evoke grotesque human faces, horse heads and even skulls, thanks to the “artistic talent” of nature.

But also thanks to the eyes of those who have noticed it, and who now communicate it to others. They are Pere Ferrer, José Sedano and Daniel Ferrer, who took the photographs in the Serra de Tramuntana (Mallorca), before time erases these shapes again.

The exhibition will be inaugurated in January 15th at 20 h also in Fundació Setba, and belongs to the Slow movement, created in Rome in the 1980s in contrast to fast food businesses, which open even in historic settlements.

Precisely about this the conference “Moviment Slow: opció o necessitat?” by Imma Tortajada and the exhibition of “slow” head-dresses by Teresa Sil will take place in the Sala Llimona, respectively on February 7th at 19 h and from February 7th to 22nd.
