Homage to Enric Miralles

The faces of Miralles

The Enric Miralles Foundation is promoting a tribute to the architect, as 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of his death.

The Fundació Enric Miralles, with the support of Barcelona City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya, has launched ‘MIRALLES’, a program of exhibitions and activities that shows you the legacy that the architect left behind. Thus, they pay homage to his different facet as a creator: architect, designer, photographer and teacher, offering a multifaceted and personal look at his career. The program is curated by Benedetta Tagliabue and Joan Roig and "not only wants to remember the human and professional figure of Enric Miralles, but also keep alive the spirit of the visionary, the experimentalist as a way of working and seeing the world. And leave a legacy for future generations as well" Tagliabue said.

Three of the exhibitions that are part of the program will be inaugurated this April, the first of which will be at the Saló del Tinell from April 15 to July 4. It is the exhibition ‘MIRALLES: A quarts de quatre...’ about the architect Miralles, focused on four projects built and benchmarks of modern European architecture, and which also represent a milestone in his life. On the same day, the exhibition ‘MIRALLES. Photos & Collages’ will inaugurate at Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica, which collects pieces that make up one of Miralles’ very identifiable ways of expressing himself. You can visit it until June 30. Finally, the Fundació Enric Miralles will inaugurate the exhibition ‘MIRALLES. To be continued...’, which will show the work done in the Miralles Tagliabue architecture studio (EMBT) in recent years without his presence and which you can visit until December 30.

The program will also include activities in other formats, such as talks and debates. You will find all the information about the tribute, which will continue during 2021, on this website.
