Surf and city come together at the festival

The environment, creativity and art in the third edition of the Surfcity Festival

14 hours of non-stop activities at Fàbrica Fabra i Coats.

From 12 noon on 25 March to 2am the following morning, the Fàbrica Fabra i Coats will be the scene of non-stop activities with the third edition of the Arnette Surfcity Festival, which, according to its organisers, is based on three pillars: the environment, creativity and art, as well as fusing together two concepts like surf and the city.

One of the novelties of this new edition is the use of the area around the Fabra i Coats facility for free attractions including DJs, food stalls, a surf-skate installation and an art installation set up on top of a car. Inside the factory grounds, music is the main attraction, with seven bands who will be playing eight hours of music from 6pm on. Among the bands will be French electronic duet II Est Vilaine, Brooklyn duo Der Panther, Balearic psychedelic music with The Wheels, and the garage rock sounds of Madrid’s The Parrots.

Contemporary art will also be present in the shape of We are antonym, an exhibition featuring the work of 40 artists from around the world. A shaper room surfboard workshop and a dedicated Peta Surfboards shaper room are among the other attractions of a festival which, according to its organisers, aims to transform Barcelona into the surf capital of the world for a day.
