An exhibition of dolls’ houses in the Cotxeres de Sants Civic Centre

The Artisans in Miniature Fair returns for another year to exhibit its diminutive creations on the 20th and 21st of September

The universe of miniature scenes and dolls’ houses is a curious fusion of artisan virtuosity, flight of the imagination, the ability to make anything possible, and the recreation of idyllic worlds on a diminutive scale. On the 20th and 21st of September, visitors to the Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants will once again be treated to Barcelona’s largest exhibition of hand crafted dolls’ houses and miniature scenes.

On invitation by the Catalan Association of Artisans in Miniature, creators from around the globe will exhibit their diminutive pieces and accessories especially created for dolls’ house, which themselves range from more traditional designs to the contemporary architecture of Nacho Badia. In addition to taking in the exhibition, visitors are invited to take part in this year’s competition, design a poster for next year’s edition, or even bring along their own miniature creations for all to see.

The fair will also include a series of specialist workshops focusing on the creation of bread baskets, fantasy cakes, travel luggage, a medieval desk, animal slippers, bunches of peonies and hydrangeas, teapots and crochet cushions as well as workshops on how to install electricity in dolls’ houses or erect a stone wall. It goes without saying that visitors will also have the opportunity to shop at the numerous stands.

The Exhibition of Dolls’ Houses and Miniature Scenes, can be seen on the 20th and 21st of September in the Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants. Tickets are priced at 3 euros with free entry for children under twelves. For more information, please consult the Associació d'Artesans Miniaturistes de Catalunya website.
