‘Xilema’, by Perejaume, at Sala Beckett
Enric Montefusco

Contemporary poetry on stage

You can still enjoy the last two dates of the 2021 Festival Alcools at the Sala Beckett.

The Festival Alcools was born in La Seca-Espai Brossa in 2015 with the aim of giving a space of expression to contemporary poetry, creating high-level poetic shows in theatres and turning them into something usual. Once again, the festival is moving to the Sala Beckett, an 8th edition that you can still enjoy with the two recitals that will take place on February 23 and March 16.

On one hand, Xilema will take place on February 23, with the poet Perejaume, the actress Sílvia Bel, the singer Neus Borrell and the guitarist Miquel Joan Escuer. All four propose a recital where, sitting around a table, they will invoke the word through fragments of the Perejaume’s work and verses by Verdaguer and Sant Joan de la Creu, among others. On March 16, it will be the turn of musician and lyricist Enric Montefusco, who presents Carne de cañón, a recital where the artist will explain himself through his songs which mix poetry and prose, showing us his most intimate side, the same that tries to shape in its autobiographical essay Carne de cañón.

The recitals will take place at 8 pm in the Beckett’s Sala de Baix. Tickets for each session are 10 euros, which you can buy through the theatre’s website.
