The fifth edition of Serializados Fest features Iceland as the guest country

The world of television series seems to be living something of a golden age. Those who are fans can already buy tickets for what will be the fifth edition of the International Festival of Series of Barcelona, ​​also known as the Serializados Fest. The festival offers an intense programme with productions, talks and master classes from 27 to 30 September, based at the CCCB contemporary culture centre, although the official opening, will take place at Sala Mompou at SGAE and other events are scheduled for the Auditorium of the Blanquerna Communications Faculty - URL, while some screenings will be at Filmoteca de Catalunya.

This year's guest country is Iceland and , and actor, humourist and former mayor of Reykjavík Jón Gnarr will be taking part in a talk at CCCB at 7pm on 28 September. The day before that, he will be at the Filmoteca to present three episodes from Borgarstjórinn, a series that focuses on his career and period as mayor. The opening of the festival will also tackle the subject of Icelandic series, including Trapped, which is considered to be the country's most ambitious production yet.

The Panorama section will feature the premiere of 11 series, including My Brilliant Friend, which is based on Elena Ferrante's bestselling novel and Mr. Mercedes, an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Stephen King. Also on the schedule is the second season of the Balearic Islands series  Mai neva a ciutat, as well as a tribute to the Catalan writer Maria Aurèlia Capmany.
