FIRE!! at home
The Barcelona International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will celebrate the 2020 edition virtually, screening the films on FilmIn.
Desperate situations call for desperate measures. The organization of FIRE!!, the Exhibition International Gay and Lesbian Cinema of Barcelona, has decided not to remain absent and will broadcast the 2020 edition through the streaming platform FilmIn. This way, the public can enjoy this year’s program from home. In this edition, the organization wants to highlight the two sections that have been added to the usual ones of the sample: they are 'FIRE!! Goes Freak' and 'Best of FIRE!!', and they will have a retrospective feature. Also, there is a small sample of three titles by the Argentine director Marco Berger is offered as a tribute to him.
The festival shows LGTB-themed feature films, documentaries and short films with directors from all over the world. From this year's edition, titles such as C’est ça l’amour by Claire Burger, Lingua Franca by Isabel Sandoval, Viento seco by Daniel Nolasco and Mario by Marcel Gisler. Two of the titles are added to the list are directed by the honoree Marco Berger: El cazador and the one he signs accompanied by Martín Farina, Taekwondo. You can check the film list here.
The FIRE!! 2020 will be available on FilmIn from the 10th to 20th of September. You can enjoy it if you are members of the platform or by buying the special pack of FIRE!! for 25 Euros, which gives access to all of the content of the festival.
