The first edition Etnoscòpic, all about ethnology

The festival's program includes live music, art installations and talks.

Everything’s ready for the debut of Etnoscòpic, the festival of contemporary arts that is all about ethnology. The event will be held in the Museo Etnológico y de Culturas del Mundo (MUEC) and the Santa Maria del Mar Basilica from May 27th to 30th. It is organized by Eufònic, the festival of sound, visual and digital-performance arts of Terres de'Ebre, and the MUEC.

The festival will be varied, not only because of the diversity of genres but also because of all its different formats. Viewers will find everything from psychedelic pop to dance, mákina music, audiovisual, sound and musical installations, video creations and talks. Among the proposals, the organizers highlight the psychedelic pop show by Atomizador; the musical intervention by CSFCMMCAB (Marc O'Callaghan), where he’ll reinterpret the catholic folklore in the genre of mákina music; the video installation by Lola Mansilla, with Raquel Gualtero's dance piece site-specific; and the talks by journalist and cultural producer Tania Adam and philosopher, writer and cultural agitator Franco "Bifo" Berardi. Another strong suit can be found at the beginning of the festival: KMRU, a sound artist and music producer from Nairobi and one of the leading interpreters of the experimental music scene in East Africa. He will play in the majestic gothic church of Santa María del Mar on Thursday, May 27th at 8.30 pm.

Tickets for KMRU's concert can be bought through Eufònic's website, while the bookings for the rest of the shows have to be made through MUEC's website. Further details about the Etnoscòpic festival, at this link.
