Foto Colectania opens new exhibition

'Based on True Stories' is an exhibition of photographs taken from the centre's collection.

The Foto Colectania Foundation is opening the exhibition that will be held during the winter season on Saturday 31st of October. 'Based on True Stories' is the title of the new exhibition, which consists of photographs taken from the foundation's collection, thus offering a new interpretation of the works. The exhibition seeks out the stories behind these photographs –in this case, more than a hundred of them– taken by great authors such as Helena Almeida, Juan Manuel Castro Pietro, Joan Fontcuberta, Cristina García Rodero, Chema Madoz, Cristina de Middel, Isabel Muñoz, Ramon Masats and Gervasio Sánchez, among many others.

The exhibition, curated by Irene Mendoza, is organised in four areas, each of which gives a different point of view on the authors' viewpoint, from the most personal to the collective. The novelty of this exhibition is that visitors will be able to use their mobile devices to delve into the images of the collection. Through QR codes you will be able to access more information about the work in question with other images and documents from the collection.

The exhibition can be visited until February 28th 2021 for the price of 4 euros. You can buy a ticket at the ticket office and see the exhibition during the centre's opening hours, from Wednesday to Sunday. Consult the practical information before going.
