Franco Battiato visits L'Auditori

The Italian musician will be presenting his latest record “Apriti Sesamo” on the 20th March

On the 20th of March, L’Auditori will raise the curtain for Sicilian Franco Battiato, one of the most relevant figures in Italian culture over the past decades. Not only has Battiato covered a wide variety of musical genres from his particular perspective over a period of more than 40 years, he has also cultivated his interest in painting and cinema, a discipline in which he has acted as director, scriptwriter and producer.

The current visit to Barcelona is part of a promotional tour to present his latest offering Apriti Sesamo, which was published last year and Battiato will be accompanied by keyboards, piano, guitars, bass, drums and a string quartet in order to add versatility to the performance, which will include aspects of pop as well as concessions to opera, progressive music and ethnic rhythms.

While the performance is billed as a presentation of his latest record, the Sicilian artist will undoubtedly perform some of the more popular songs from his extensive repertoire and career.
