The art of ‘Tàpies at 30’.
The Fundació Antoni Tàpies is opening a new exhibition of the artist’s works from 1953 to 1963.
This 2020 makes 30 years since the creation of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, an anniversary that they want to celebrate with this new exhibition that will last until June next year. It is called ‘Tàpies at 30’ and aims to show the works that this painter produced between 1953 and 1963, the time of his thirties. This was the period in Tàpies’ artistic career when he reached maturity in his art, creating the so-called matter paintings, a style of painting in which earthy and grey colours predominated and which placed him in an important position within the Spanish and international avant-garde.
The exhibition ‘Tàpies at 30’ will open on the 3rd of October. The pieces come from the Fundació’s collection, as well as from Tàpies’ family and private collections, and will therefore be a great opportunity to enjoy works never before seen by the public. They will all be accompanied by documentation of the period so that Tàpies’ works can be included in the historical framework of his time.
‘Tàpies at 30’ will be at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies until 6 June 2021. The price of the general ticket is 8 euros and you can visit it from Thursday to Sunday during the opening hours of the centre. You will find all the information on the Foundation's website.
