Guitar and Barcelona at the MUHBA
The Museu d'Història de Barcelona is participating in the organisation of the Guitar Days of Catalonia 2020.
In October and November, the Museu d'Història de Barcelona participates in the organisation of the Guitar Days of Catalonia 2020, activities and concerts dedicated to this instrument and its historical relationship with the Catalan territory, promoted by the guitarist and doctor Maria Ribera Gibal. The programme of these days passes through different facilities of the territory and in the city of Barcelona, the MUHBA is one of the guests. The next activity proposed by the museum is a Dialogue of Urban History and Heritage on ‘The Barcelona of Francesc Tàrrega and Emili Pujol’, which will be conducted by Dr. Ribera Gibal herself. It will be held on Monday 19th October in the MUHBA Plaça del Rei.
On October 29th, the guitarist and musicologist will give a concert with works by Emili Pujol in the Saló del Tinell of the museum, as well as commenting on the author and his contribution to the teaching of the guitar. Finally, on November 29th, the MUHBA will be offering an itinerary called ‘La guitarra en Barcelona’ which will take you to various places in the old part of the city to discover its historical relationship with the instrument.
