Harlem Jazz Club will feature two shows from each artist: Professor Cunnigham & His Old School and 'Acoustic Roots & Blues'.

The programme for the second half of May at the Harlem Jazz Club begins on the 18th at 8 p.m. with the third session of The worst of crime, the best of jazz cycle, dedicated to the 1940s, with novelist Ernesto Mallo and pianist Joan Berenguer. The fourth and second-to-last session will take place on 1 June and focus on the 1950s.

On the 19th at 10:30 p.m., Professor Cunningham & His Old School will be performing. The band is part of the current New York jazz scene, the city where Adrian Cunningham (sax, clarinet and vocals), John Challoner (trumpet), John Merril (guitar), Jim Robertson (bass) and Martí Elias (drums) live create and play. The band performs traditional New Orleans jazz, and their concerts are characterised by the joy they bring to the "old styles" of this music born on the banks of the Mississippi River. If you miss them or want to repeat, you can see them again on 2 June.

The next day, at the same time, Martín Burguez & The New Golden Swing Band will be playing. The ensemble led by the Argentinian star Martín Burguez (guitar and vocals), accompanied by Óscar Tinoco (double bass), Óscar Hita (drums) and Pol Padrós (sax) will travel along the paths of swing, blues and early jazz from the 40s and 50s.

On the 21st, the stage will be taken over by bluesman Chino Swingslide. With the previously mentioned Óscar Tinoco on double bass, Pol Prats on sax and Miko Nello on drums, Chino & The Sharps Swing Band will offer the show Swing, swing, swing!. And on the 24th and 31st, Swingslide (guitar and vocals), Tinoco (double bass), and Óscar Hita (drums) will be surrounded by other colleagues in two new sessions of their traditional Blues & Early Jazz Jam.

The main novelty of the programme will come on the 26th and 27th from Dik Banovich, an exceptional acoustic guitarist with a magnificent voice and a solid and sensitive plucking game. Banovich grew up in Chicago in the 1950s and 1960s under the influence of blues, swing and other styles of American guitar music. For four decades, he has exported his blend of Acoustic Roots & Blues to various festivals in Africa and Europe.

On the 28th at 11 p.m., the septet Son de la Rambla will bid farewell to the month of May with the most genuine flavour of traditional Cuban music: guarachabolerosonchachacharumbanengón and changüí.

In all cases, the venue will open its doors and bar service at 8 p.m., regardless of the time of the concert. Ticket prices range between 10 and 15 euros, depending on the show, and can be bought in advance at the different links above.
