Heura Gaya is premiering her first solo album, 'Gaya', at the Centre Cívic Casa Golferichs.
Singer and gralla player Heura Gaya has performed in various bands of the country's roots music scene in recent years. In 2019, she started her first solo project, named Gaya, a search for the self and her own language that has given rise to an intimate repertoire. Her music is somewhere between folk and pop while dipping into traditional music, to which she is accustomed. On Wednesday, September 22, you can enjoy the premiere of this album at the Casa Golferichs Civic Centre, with songs that evoke nature with Heura Gaya's melancholic and sweet voice. In the songbook, Gaya has hits that seek a wistful state through nature; versions of lied or poems; pieces that speak of love through the body, and even a lullaby that Maria Mercè Marçal wrote for her daughter Heura.
The Gaya project was a finalist at the last edition of the Sons de la Mediterrània awards. It was published by Segell Microscopi with the arrangements and production of musician and composer Eduard Iniesta, who will accompany her during the concert on the guitar. Previously, Gaya had participated in a wide range of projects, including those of Tornaveus, Jaume Ayats, Marcel Caselles, la Cobla Catalana dels Sons Essencials and Morena Tradipatxanga. She has also taken part in the poetry and music show Amor. Arrels, Branques i fulles, shared with singer-songwriter Meritxell Gené and poet Meritxell Cucurella.
Tickets are free, but booking in advance is required. You can do it here until September 20.
