‘Barcelona photographic memory' opens on Thursday 1 October at the IDEAL

A journey through the Barcelona of the 1960s

The Centre d'Arts Digitals IDEAL is opening this autumn an immersive experience about the city of Barcelona.

This October, the Centre d’Arts Digitals IDEAL is inaugurating a new immersive experience about the city of Barcelona and the changes it underwent during the 1950s and 1960s. The installation is based on photographs by six of the country's best artists –Francesc Català-Roca, Oriol Maspons, Leopoldo Pomés, Joana Biarnés, Xavier Miserachs and Colita– and is also a tribute to their work and a vindication of what it meant for photography at that time. The installation will be called 'Barcelona photographic memory' and will consist of immersive pieces in 360º format and virtual reality scenarios, all with an interactive component.

Barcelona photographic memory' will open its doors on Thursday 1st of October, an exhibition of images that fuses documentary and artistic photography to create unique testimonies to the social transformations that the city of Barcelona underwent during the 1950s and 1960s. The six photographers achieved a small revolution in the world of creativity and stopped being mere image technicians. You can live the experience until February 28.

Tickets can be bought here from 9 euros. Each ticket guarantees you one hour in the space, but it is not necessary to enter on time, as you can go on your own. The sessions will take place from Wednesday to Monday, from 11 am and with the last admission at 7 pm.
