II Data Journalism and Open Data Conference

From 24 to 27 April Barcelona hosts the second Data Journalism Conference, held simultaneously in Madrid and Almería.

The conference, specialized in data journalism and open data visualizations for journalistic, scientific and business projects, consist of three days which will include lectures, discussions, workshops and project presentations with data journalism experts worldwide.

This edition will focus on promoting the creation of projects and encouraging journalists to touch code, manipulate data and get involved in programming and it will take things a step further, with a special female programme, a somewhat unusual focus in the technological environment.

In Barcelona, most of the conferences takes place at the CCCB and the Faculty of Communication Blaquerna while CaixaFòrum gives the starting point on thursday with the last session of the cycle Future of the Journalists Association.

Data Journalism is a discipline that the main international media have incorporated in recent years, offering readers data visualisation and processing to explain data in a clear and understandable way.
