II Fòrum Internacional “Mirant cap al Futur” (Looking towards the future)

From the 20th to the 27th of April, Russia and Catalonia will be strengthening their cultural ties through the II Fòrum Internacional, organised by the association Món de la Cultura

The NGO Món de la Cultura (Moscow) has organised Mirant cap al futur, a conference that was previously held in 2011 in the town of Rimini, Italy, with notable success. On that particular occasion a number of artistic and cultural organisations strengthened their cultural ties in a programme that included a variety of events.

On this occasion Món de la Cultura, an organisation that has been developing activities in various locations in Catalonia since 2008, has organised, with the participation of other centres and organisations, the Fòrum internacional de cultura Catalunya - Rússia for managers and directors of organisations related to culture and the arts.

From the 20th to the 27th of April, approximately 100 managers and directors of theatres, galleries, museums, concert halls and child education centres throughout Russia, and with the added presence of the Ministers for Culture of the Krasnodar and Sakhalin regions, will travel to Barcelona to participate in the programme of activities. The itinerary will allow those responsible for their respective Russian and Catalan cultural organisations to cooperate directly, thereby creating a platform for dialog and shared experiences.

Prior to the event, on the 21st, there will be a visit to the Museu Salvador Dalí, in Figueres and the castle of Púbol. The official inauguration will take place on the morning of the 22nd in the Aula Magna of the University of Barcelona. Participation in the event is open to all, subject to presentation of a registration form. Following this there will be a presentation in PechaKucha format by the cultural organisations participating in the event which will allow the attendees to acquaint themselves with the invited Russian cultural representatives. Over the following days there will be addresses, presentations, round table debates and discussions among the various sectors - administrative, theatre, education –with the aim of strengthening cultural ties between Russia and Catalonia.

In addition, there will be visits to the Gran Teatr3 del Liceu, the Palau de la Música, the Fundació Miró, a visit to the city centre on the 23rd in celebration of Sant Jordi, and a visit to the Monasteri de Montserrat on the 24th.
