‘143 rue du désert’ will open La Inesperada festival at the Filmoteca de Catalunya

La Inesperada, the non-fiction film festival

The festival is showing, from the 25th to the 28th of February, non-released films in Catalonia by local and international authors.

A new film festival focused on non-fiction cinema arrives in the city. It’s La Inesperada and brings you four days of film screenings by local and international authors, a space to give visibility to film undercurrents that don’t have much of a presence on local exhibition circuits. Between the 25th and the 28th of February, the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Zumzeig Cinema will host the different sessions of the festival, the first of which will be on Thursday 25 with 143 rue du désert at the Filmoteca. The film is by Hassen Ferhani, who will present the session and the subsequent colloquium together with Núria Giménez Lorang, co-organiser of the festival.

Il n'y aura plus de nuit, by Éléonore Weber, brings together images of the war to show everything we don’t see in the media. The director will present the session on the 26th with Miquel Martí Freixas, co-organiser of the festival, who will also direct the double session of The House is Black and De l'autre côté and of The Two Sights / An Dà Shealladh on the 27th. Then, on the 27th and the 28th, at the Zumzeig, you can see other films, such as Homenatge a Judes by Manel Raga, Pedra pàtria by Macià Florit, Blue eyes and colorful my dress by Polina Gumiela and some short films.

Tickets are priced between 4 and 5.50 euros. You can buy them on the Filmoteca and Zumzeig websites for each session. You can also check out the full program here.
