Israeli historian Yuval Noah in conversation at La Pedrera
He will be accompanied on Tuesday 11 October by the physicist and university professor Jorge Wagensberg
The Conversations at La Pedrera cycle is beginning a new season on 11 October at 7pm with Yuval Noah Harari. Born in Kyriat Ata, Israel, in 1976, Noah is a historian and Professor at the Humanities Faculty at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his main focus of research is the relationship between history and biology. His book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind has been translated into some thirty languages and he has recently published Homo Deus. A Brief Story of Tomorrow. He has won the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality twice, in 2009 and 2012.
His partner in conversation at La Pedrera will be Jorge Wagensberg, Doctor in Physics and Professor of the Theory of Irreversible Processes at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona. The conversation will be held in English.
This will be the 25th conversation in the cycle, which is organised by La Pedrera de Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera, in collaboration with Arcàdia. The aim of the cycle is to provide a space for dialogue between people from different intellectual disciplines and national backgrounds. Others sessions scheduled for this Autumn feature the US cosmologist Lisa Randall (17 October), the Italian historian Benedetta Craveri (28 November) and the Italian writer Erri de Luca (12 December).
