Through the darkest Barcelona
The Pere Pruna Civic Centre programmes an itinerary based on real cases of assassinations and murders that took place in the city between 1850 and 1983.
Coinciding with BCNegra, the film noir festival organised by Barcelona City Council's Institute of Culture, which takes place from 6 to 12 February, the Pere Pruna Civic Center invites you to take part on Saturday 11 February in the Barcelona sang i fetge itinerary, guided by Meritxell Carreres, a local historian and guide from the company AdaptamBCN. The route is based on real events: all the cases described happened in the city between 1850 and 1983. The information has been extracted from books and journalistic research, and, as the well-known phrase goes, the participants will be able to see that reality certainly surpasses fiction.
The meeting point will be at 11 am on Barcelona's Rambla, near the Canaletas fountain. The group will enter the Raval via Carrer Pintor Fortuny, and there will be no shortage of stories about the famous Enriqueta Martí, the Raval vampire, among others. There will also be stories about the Barcelona by Night cabaret, which was in Carrer de les Tàpies, and, in the final section -the route will end in Plaça Reial- stories linked to the Jamboree Jazz Club of the 1960s. In total, a dozen dark cases, including murders, homicides and the odd suicide, in a two-hour walk through the chronicle noir, which is also a look at a part of Barcelona's history.
To take part in the activity, which is free of charge, prior registration is required. You can do so by calling 93 418 65 37, or by following this link. More information here.
