Josep Carner, Mercè Rodoreda and Josep Pla feature in the final "Imaginary encounter"

On Sunday the 31st of May the meeting between the three Catalan authors, as played by Xavier Albertí, Carme Sansa and Pep Tosar, will put the finishing touches to the series in the Born Centre Cultural

On Sunday evenings during this month of May, as part of the series Encontros imaginaris (Imaginary encounters), a selection of historical characters have been meeting to converse in the form of chats – five dramatized readings based on texts by Hélder Costa (and one by poet and playwright Narcís Comadira) have served as the basis for meetings between characters who have long since left this earth.

On the 31st of May the final Imaginary encounter will feature Josep Carner, Mercè Rodoreda and Josep Pla as interpreted by Xavier Albertí, Carme Sansa and Pep Tosar. With a text by Narcís Comadira the performance will also feature a mysterious appearance by a surprising and entertaining singer and pianist, David Anguera, who will delight the audience with a series of musical treats.

Since the first 'encounter' between Stefan Zweig, Tamara de Lempicka and Richard Wagner until the final performance on the 31st, many renowned Catalan actors and actresses have taken on the role of historical figures. Sitting facing the audiences, the unusual triads animatedly converse and exchange ideas on the basis of texts full of intelligence and subtle humour.

Rasputin meets Miguel de Cervantes and 'Charlotte', Denis Diderot with Maria Félix and Giuseppe Verdi, Mao Zedong with Jesus Christ and Joseph Goebbels – all have made their presence felt in the Sala Moragues of the Born Centre Cultural in a series of productions overseen by presenter and moderator Evelyn Arévalo, who has also been responsible for stage direction.
