La Dieta Digital (The Digital Diet) of Jordi Romañach

Manuel Cuyás and Enric Sierra, accompanied by the author, will be presenting the book in El Corte Inglés of Portal de l’Àngel on Friday the 15th of February

The obsession with being constantly in contact with the world is one of the central themes approached by Jordi Romañach in his book, Dieta Digital (Digital Diet), published by Plataforma. As the head of communications of El Corte Inglés in Catalonia explains, the inability to disconnect is not limited anymore to stressed executives, it is a modern-day curse that affects just about everybody.

Where do the social network and new technology gurus come from and what do they gain? While we all know that the contributions made by these advancements are irrefutable, we are also aware that their reason for being is not entirely clear. Meanwhile we, the users, are addicted and often obsessed by putting our personal information, the real raw material of the 21st century, in the hands of who knows who.

Freedom, privacy, technological slavery and dependency are topics that are dealt with in Dieta Digital and that will be discussed by the author, the publishing director, journalist Manuel Cuyàs (who will be making the introduction) and Enric Sierra, editor of the digital edition of La Vanguardia, during Friday’s presentation in the Sala Ámbito Cultural, on the 6th floor of El Corte Inglés.
