LIFE Victoria, the Lied in Barcelona
The next appointment of the Lied Festival Victoria de los Ángeles will be at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau on September 30th.
A new edition of LIFE Victoria, the Lied Festival Victoria de los Ángeles has arrived, which pays tribute to the soprano from Barcelona. Due to the current covid situation, the festival has presented two consecutive editions: this year's will present ‘La invitació al viatge’, while next year LIFE Victoria 2021 will be held under the name ‘Els viatges de l’ànima’. The next show that you can enjoy will take place on Wednesday September 30th at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. The recital, ‘El viatge de les hores del dia’, will feature soprano Kate Royal accompanied by pianist Joseph Middleton where, with songs by Mahler, Schumann and Gustavino, among others, will explain the journey of a young man from the morning to the difficult night hours.
The LIFE Victoria 2020 program includes this year's resident artists: Helena Ressurreição, David Alegret, Francisco Poyato and James Baillieu, as well as the new figure of resident composer, who this year occupies Albert Guinovart. You can see them and many other international artists, in different stages in Barcelona, such as the CaixaForum Auditorium or the Museu de la Música.
