Marillion offers two concerts at Bikini

Formed in Aylesbury, Northwest London, Marillion have been involved in the music scene for many years; to be precise, since 1970, when the young group decided to form a band which took its inspiration from artists like Genesis, Yes and Van der Graaf Generator. Their third album, Misplaced Childhood (1985), reached number 1 on the U.K.’s best-selling albums list, which awarded them star-status. 

 

A turning point in Marillion’s career occurred in 1988, when their lead singer nicknamed ‘Fish’ left the band. Steve Hogarth was chosen as a replacement and he has enjoyed considerable success since, having remained at the forefront of the band to date.

 

Currently, the band continues with push forward with force, releasing new albums and undertaking long-running international tours. As a case in point, the back-to-back shows at Bikini will have distinct repertoires and will showcase their latest album - Sounds that Can’t be Made. This album was released last September and is no less than their seventeenth studio album… and it doesn’t seem as though they intend to stop there.
