A midsummer evening’s circus in the CaixaForum

On Wednesday the 20th of August the Rogelio Rivel School of Circus will once again present a selection of the most notable creations by former students

Following the success of last year, the programme “Summer Evenings in the CaixaForum” will once again focus on circus. This year, however, the Rogelio Rivel School of Circus has extended its proposal to include additional performances in various locations throughout the venue.

At 7.00 pm and then another time at 10.15 pm, in the mock modernist streets of the converted textile factory that comprises the main building, two clowns who go by the name of La Bella Tour will demonstrate their acrobatic talents.

Prior to this, at 7.30 pm and 8.45 pm in the CaixaForum foyer, Los Herreritas will perform a monocycle and juggling number. Beginning at 8 pm, the “Patio Inglés”, or English Courtyard, will host four consecutive performances featuring Albert Estrada, a fixed trapeze specialist, Circ Pistolet with their wheel acrobatics, La Femme Fatal on the double trapeze and Bot Project on the trampoline.

Beginning at 9 pm in the main auditorium, Circ Pistolet will present an aerial circus act, the Home Idea and Saltoka companies will demonstrate their juggling and acrobatics prowess, Marc Hidalgo will perform his acro-dance and, to finish up with, Hotel Iocandi will present a performance that includes balancing ladders, aerial numbers and live music.

The evening of circus will take place from 7 pm to 10.30 pm in the CaixaForum. All performances are free with the exception of those held in the auditorium, for which entry costs 6 euros. For more information please consult the CaixaForum website.
