FAMA 2020

FAMA in the Drassanes shipyards

For yet another year the Museu Marítim is hosting the Fira d’Art Modern i Antic in Barcelona.

FAMA is the acronym for Fira d’Art Modern i Antic (Modern and Antique Art Fair), which is coming to Barcelona for the sixth year running. This edition aims to consolidate the fair and convert it into one of the city’s leading events, as well as help disseminate its heritage and art all over the country. For collectors and gallery owners from different parts of Spain, the fair is an ideal place to show their conservation work in an exhibition spanning thousands of years of history held inside the Reials Drassanes de Barcelona (Barcelona Royal Shipyards), in the Marquès de Comillas Hall. This year, there are over 20 exhibitors, most of whom are from Barcelona. There are also others from A Coruña, Bilbao, Madrid and Marbella.

On the same dates as the fair there will also be events such as the presentation of the book by Maria del Agua Cortés ‘El moble popular de Catalunya’, a talk on how to include artwork in interior design projects and the workshop ‘Furniture on BCN’s streets’, which will take place every day during the fair’s opening hours. Information about the events held during the fair and their timetables is available at this link.

The Fira d’Art Modern i Antic will be in the Museu Marítim of Barcelona from 4 to 8 March. It will be open to visitors on Wednesday, 4.00 pm – 9.00 pm and Thursday to Sunday, 11.30 am – 8.30 pm. Tickets cost €10.00 and can either be purchased here or at the museum itself.
