The Modernist Fair of Barcelona: this year in virtual format and dedicated to Dolors Monserdà

The Instagram profiles of Coreixample and Ruta del Modernisme will offer open meetings, concerts, film screenings and all sorts of workshops.

Each year, the association of traders and professionals Coreixample arranges the Modernist Fair. This year however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have adapted to the situation and it will be celebrated virtually.

The aim is to offer an intense weekend that allows you to explore and enjoy, in a fulfilling and attractive way, the modernist past of Barcelona. This edition is dedicated to the Catalan writer Dolors Monserdà. The writer, journalist and feminist was awarded various times at the Floral Games, wrote theatre and was considered to be the first Catalan novelist with works such as La familia Asparó or La fabricante. In 2019, the Generalitat de Catalunya marked the Year of Dolors Monserdà at the one hundredth anniversary of her death.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, days 5,6 and 7th of June; the Instagram profiles of @coreixample  and @rutamodernisme will offer open chats, concerts, film screenings and all types of workshops to participate individually or with your family, your partner or your friends. The hashtag to follow and post about with this initiative is #FiraModernistaBCN2020.

The Modernist Fair is a project included in the Festa Major de l’Eixample, which is boosted by various neighbour groups as well as commercial, cultural and educational entities of the neighbourhood.
