FIRE!!!

The most defiant edition of FIRE is here!!

This year’s Barcelona International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is bringing together more than 50 titles around this theme.

FIRE!!, the Barcelona International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is ushering in its 24th edition stronger than ever. This is why it decided to showcase its history to pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which sparked the global struggle for LGBTI rights. For ten days, 50 titles will be shown, including feature films, documentaries and short films from countries like France, United States, Austria, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Norway, Vietnam and Australia, including many others. Some of the films to be screened are Riot; An Army of Lovers; Dyke, Camera, Action!; Darkroom; Un Rubio; Knife + Heart; and Sauvage, along with many others. Plus, twelve of the creators of the films will visit the festival to introduce their work; they include Rosa von Praunheim, Camille Vidal-Naquet, Alba Muñoz, Gerald Hayo, Gabriel Moran, Xavier Miralles Serrán and Genís Lamas. As always, the films revolve around themes like love, struggle and transsexuality. In short, the fair is a clear statement of intentions, which places cinema, education and culture at the forefront of the struggle for everyone’s rights.

The vast majority of the activities will be held at the Institut Francès, although short-film screenings will also be held at the LGTBI Centre of Barcelona. You can enjoy FIRE!! from the 6 to 16 June at different times.

A four-film pass costs €24, and general tickets cost €7. However, there will be a few screenings free of charge and at other prices. You can buy your tickets on the film festival website.
