The Big Sleep

The best couples in film at Phenomena Experience

In April, the Phenomena Experience cinema will host a series of films featuring iconic on-screen couples.

There’s no doubt that the Phenomena Experience cinema has done a lot to revive the public's love for film. There, the art of film is a religion, and the best films of the past are rescreened in the best conditions and the most widely awaited premieres are made, especially if they require cutting-edge technology. And, from time to time, there are even morning or late night sessions, double bills and cycles like the one that will take place in April, called Movie Couples. The title says it all: we can see movies featuring couples who have become popular thanks to their special chemistry, their private lives in common, or their long track record of working together. The first screening will be on Sunday 1 April, with Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967), with Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy.

The films in the cycle will be screened on Saturdays and Sundays and they include iconic titles such as Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (featuring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford), Sleeper (with Woody Allen and Diane Keaton) and The Big Sleep (Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall).
