Muñeco and Polaroid, two upcoming bands in the Sidecar club

The bands from Catalonia and Basque Country will be demonstrating the intensity of their latest releases on the 27th of April

Long live small clubs! Aside from the major festivals, live music continues to be a driving force, and in particular for the more modest bands who are trying to forge a name for themselves on the basis of continual live shows. Two clear examples of bands with this profile will be playing in Sidecar on the 27th of April. On the one hand there is the local band Muñeco and, on the other, the band from San Sebastian, Polaroid.

Muñeco are an essentially instrumental band who are seeking, according to themselves, “a sound that integrates the three basic foundations of the music we love, psychedelic hypnotism, the escapist potential of post-rock and the physical impulse of dance”. So far they have only released one self-edited EP of six songs, but this alone has been sufficient to garner the respect of the specialist media.

Polaroid have been around a little longer and have already released their first full-length recording, The Escapist, which came out last year and has been steadily gaining fans. The band from the Basque Country cultivate an intense, elegant and moderately epic style of pop-rock with a proficiency that is on a par with any acclaimed international outfit.
