‘Els Vespres d’Hivern’ (Winter Evenings) at the Universitat de Barcelona

The 5th edition of the concert series is here, and it’s brimming with bold, innovative performances.

Five years is nothing to scoff at, and the ‘Els Vespres d’Hivern’ (Winter Evenings) music series held at the Universitat de Barcelona wants to prove it. The goal of these concerts has always been the same: to showcase an array of bold projects from today’s music scene. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the series organisers wanted to go a step further by presenting a line-up of original artists from different genres with highly unique acts. Tickets are already sold out for the performance featuring the feminist flamenco group LaboratoriA Flamenco Project. On Friday 7 February, they will present a show that blends music and dance to reflect on feminism, while also incorporating audio-visual materials on the creative process.

The concerts in the ‘Els Vespres d’Hivern’ series will be held in the UB’s Paranimf auditorium at 8 pm. On Friday 14 February, you can listen as singer-songwriter Maria Jaume Martorell performs her indie-folk and pop songs; on 21 February, the Cor Blanc (Mireia Bernat and Sergi Serra Mir) will offer a more electronic act with the assistance of a synthesiser and a rhythm box; and on 28 February, pianist Carles Viarnès will play his contemporary minimalist compositions with a touch of experimental electronic music.

Tickets are free, and all you have to do is download them at this link. Remember that seating is limited, so don’t wait – get yours as soon as possible.
