The concert will take place at Teatre Victòria on 14 February

Musical duets from the heart

Teatre Victòria to host a benefit concert in support of ISOM, an organisation that helps children and young people at risk of social exclusion.

The publication of an article on social media calling for a concert in which songs from musicals would be performed by duets on 14 February, Saint Valentine’s Day, met with a rapid response from music business professionals: just a few days later we have a confirmed bill of performers, a venue and a repertoire, and, more importantly, we know that the money raised by the concert will go to ISOM, an organisation that helps children and young people at risk of social exclusion. AMOR x AMOR - Duets de Musicals – will take place with the stage direction of Alícia Serrat and musical direction by Xavier Torras.

The idea has also gone down well with the public and there are currently very few tickets left to sell. The venue is Teatre Victòria and the concert will begin at 9pm. Among the thirty participating artists, who are mostly specialists in musicals, are Roger Berruezo, Daniel Anglès, Júlia Jové, Sara Pi, Mireia Mambo, Joan Vázquez, Víctor Arbelo, Jan Forrellat, Marc Flynn and Víctor Gómez.

The repertoire consists of songs from contemporary classics such as Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and Rent, from animated films like The Prince of Egypt, and from recent Broadway musicals like Waitress and Dear Evan Hansen. And there will also be room for songs from a currently successful musical film: La La Land.

Dagoll Dagom, which is currently staging the musical Scaramouche at Teatre Victòria, and Barcelona City Council are also collaborating in this event.

Additional information is available from the Teatre Victòria website.
