Silvia Coricelli, solo bassoonist of the OBC, in one of the videos shared on social media

Musicians from the OBC and the Barcelona Municipal Band turn their home into a stage

They perform musical tastings with their instruments that they share on the networks of L'Auditori.

A percussionist playing next to the fridge, a clarinetist playing his instrument in the living room, a musician with his trombone on a terrace overlooking the city ... These are just some of the components of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) and of the Banda Municipal de Barcelona, who during this confinement are recording and uploading videos to the various social media accounts of L'Auditori with the aim that the music does not stop and to keep in touch with the public. The initiative is called Músics a casa, and it is also an excellent way to get to know the instrumentalists of these groups and to listen to the sound of their solo instrument.

The repertoire, chosen by the musicians themselves, is as diverse as the instruments are varied. You can listen to a piece for vibraphone by the Dutchman Ruud Wiener to a study by the Argentine composer Ástor Piazzolla, a fragment of Scherzo sobre un tema popular Catalan theme by the director and composer Joan Lamote de Grignon - who was director of the Municipal Band between 1914 and 1939 -, or the Over the Rainbow, the famous ballad from the movie The Wizard of Oz, with lyrics by Yip Harburg and music by Harold Arlen. Each video is accompanied by a short text about the piece and its composer.
