The Sant Andreu neighbourhood festival

The Sant Andreu neighbourhood is preparing for its big celebration

From 30 November to 10 December the neighborhood will be celebrating its Festa Major, with all of the usual attractions, including parades, giants and street activities.

Most of Barcelona's neighborhoods celebrate their fiestas in the summer, but Sant Andreu is special. Like Sarrià, it celebrates its biggest local festival in late autumn. But that doesn’t mean that the people don’t take to the streets just like in summer. Two of the most important attractions in the fiesta have always been the parade of giant figures, with Andreu and Colometa, alongside fireworks parades, devil figures and other folkloric characters. If you want to enjoy a real celebration at a time prior to Christmas and in one of the most admirable places in Barcelona, Sant Andreu offers you everything.

The Sant Andreu fiesta is a tradition that dates back to 1942, and this year's program of events will be extended for 11 days, until 10 December, with sports competitions, street music, video game meets and theatrical performances.
