The Teixonera Civic Centre hosts a new edition of Territori en Dansa Urbana (TDU).

Performances, workshops, exhibitions… all part of a long weekend dedicated to urban cultures and, above all, to urban dance as a way of expressing oneself freely. All the activities are free of charge, but registration is required.

Territori en Dansa Urbana is part of this year’s programme of Hop Barcelona, the biannual platform and festival that promotes and celebrates urban dance and culture.

It all begins on Thursday, 6 November, at the Teixonera Civic Centre with Exitus, a piece by choreographer and performer Ángel Gutiérrez alongside DJ Hermes Antich — a reflection on the suffocating pace of modern life, driven by promises of success and instant rewards.

On Friday, 7 November, two urban art exhibitions open to the public. The first, curated by Digerible, presents creative works made on skateboard decks — Digerible Skate Art – 8th Edition — shown together with Bombona Parade, an exhibition that addresses, through art, the problem of discarded butane canisters that many people don’t know what to do with.

That same day, you can also see short choreographies by Milki Lee (Victor-Ibrahim Lázaro) and Cia Les Oiseaux Perchés, as well as Smack! Waack! Punch!, a performative lecture by Núria Guiu Sagarra featuring Aina Lanas, who channels personal, cultural and speculative memories around urban and social dance.

On Saturday, 8 November, the programme continues with masterclasses and an Afrojam, followed on Sunday, 9 November, by a family event. In the morning, Cia Brodas Bros presents La Quela, a piece of song and movement where the old and the new meet — a perfect show for families with children aged three and up.

If you don’t want to miss the events of Territori en Dansa Urbana, come to the Teixonera Civic Centre, but check the full programme online first.
