Nits Golfes (picaresque night-time entertainment) in the Museu d'Història de Catalunya (MHCAT)

Every Wednesday during the summer months the terrace of the MHCAT will be hosting evenings of magic, theatre, cabaret and music

The programme of open air performances organised by the Museu d’Història de Catalunya for the summer months is a varied one. Every Wednesday, spectators are invited to attend performances of theatre, cabaret, music and magic, all with an added touch of summertime mischief.

The series begins on the 3rd of July and ends on the 4th of September with the performance of GGP (Gestos, ganyotes i posturetes),( which can be roughly translated as a humorous blend of mime and pantomime), by the Vol-Ras company. Other performances include magic (És màgic!, by Mag Selvin), cabaret (Cabaret Burlesque, by Cabaret Cortina or Little night cabaret, by the NS Danza company), cuplé (slightly risqué song entertainment, titled Toca’m el cuplet, by Mònica Torra and Neus Peris) as well as music hall, theatre and dance, as is the case with the performance of Entrada amb Consumició (Entry fee with a free drink included), by Les filles Föllen.

Nits Golfes al Museu also includes improvisation by the Planeta Impro Company, music by Històries de l’avi, with Núria Esquius (actress/soprano) and Abraham Espinosa at the piano and the musical cabaret Ai com m’agrades!, with soprano Marta Fiol and pianist Efrem Garcia i Salinas.

In total, then, a series of nine performances that seek to entertain audiences by the light of the summer moon in a setting that provides close proximity with the public - the pleasant surroundings of the terrace of the Museu d'Història de Catalunya.
