Noah Gordon visits La Casa del Libro

On Saturday the 21st of December the author of The Physician will be signing copies of the new edition published to coincide with the release of the film of the same name

Published in 1986, The Physician, by North American author Noah Gordon, is one of the best-selling novels of all time with over 21 million copies sold throughout the world. The cinematographic adaptation of the novel, directed by German film maker Philipp Stölzl, will open in Barcelona cinemas on the 25th of December.

The film tells the story of the young medical student, Rob J. Cole, who possesses a talent for healing and travels throughout Europe during the 11th century in search of new medical knowledge. An orphan since he was nine years old, Rob is adopted by a barber who teaches him the trade during their travels through England. When his foster father also disappears the young man meets a Jewish doctor who leads him to his mentor, Ibn Sina, who admires the boy greatly and sends him on a voyage to Persia to learn the latest in healing techniques.

From six in the evening onwards in La Casa del Libro on Saturday the 21st of December, the author, who has become one of the world’s best-selling authors thanks to the trilogy consisting of The Physician, Shaman and Matters of Choice, will be signing copies of the new edition of The Physician, published to coincide with the release of the film of the same name. The event will also include an interview with Blanca Rosa Roca, founder and director of Roca Editorial.
