nunOff, from the 10th to the 20th of July

The fifth edition of the Barcelona festival for upcoming creators presents a programme of 22 music, theatre and dance groups

The nunOff festival began five years ago with the objective of promoting contemporary artists in Barcelona. In the words of the festival organisers, in reference to their traffic-light icon, “the nature of the festival is to provide a green light for contemporary creativity, an orange light to any kind of established formula or prejudice and, ignoring the red light, state categorically, “Yes, we can. Creativity is a possibility in Barcelona. Yes, it is possible to present a multi-disciplinary, quality programme, and yes, there are creators in the city who are truly committed to their art””.

With this in mind, this year’s festival, which runs from the 10th to the 20th of July, presents 11 double performances that include 22 music, theatre and dance groups, all of which will be held in the festival’s main building on Calle del Sol, in the Gracia district, and all of which will cost between 10 and 20 euros.

The nunOff festival is an initiative of nunArt, a non-profit association of active professionals in the worlds of dance, theatre, music and audio-visual art. Apart from the festival, the association has other projects in operation, such as BANKanvIA, an interchange programme where skills or materials are exchanged for activities or rehearsal time, or Plataforma, a programme for the dissemination of external projects.
