‘Tu hi toques a casa’ (Do you play at home?) is the variation of ‘Tu hi toques’ (Can you play?) organised every year by the Maria Canals Competition

‘Tu hi toques a casa’ (I Play from Home), the variation of the Maria Canals OFF Competition

The winners will be invited to attend the final of the Maria Canals Competition, which has been postponed until July.

How many of you have a piano at home that you haven’t played for ages? The time has come to give it a dusting and start practising the pieces you normally play so you can enter the amateur piano competition ‘Tu hi toques a casa’. Due to the present situation, the organisation has decided that instead of cancelling the event, it would adapt to reality and make use of the means we currently have at our disposal. It’s really easy to enter the Maria Canals OFF Competition: you have to make a video where first of all you explain what playing means to you and then record yourself playing an instrument. Make sure you try your hardest when you edit the video because there’s also a prize in that category!

Everyone participating in the competition will be given an invitation to attend the first or second round of the 66th edition of the Maria Canals Competition, which will be held in the Petit Palau, in addition to entering into the draw of the ‘Maria Canals Experience’: a set of unique piano experiences in exceptional locations. The videos uploaded onto the website will compete in three different categories: prize for the most viewed video, prize for the person who gives the most original reason for playing the piano and prize for the video with the best editing.

You have until 15 May to make the recording and send your video to the ‘Player’s Gallery’. The winners will receive invitations to attend the final of the Maria Canals Competition in the Palau de la Música.
