Other Possible Futures

Coll Fantasy celebrates its twenty-first edition with exhibitions, concerts and a “geek” party.

Fantasy, art and technology are the key ingredients of Coll Fantasy, an event devoted to fantasy and science fiction that reaches its 21st edition this year. From 5 to 30 November, the El Coll – La Bruguera Civic Centre will host activities inspired by this year’s theme: “Connected Utopias: a cultural journey toward alternative futures.”

These possible futures will be explored through workshops, exhibitions, a unique concert, and even tech empowerment activities designed to help you prepare for the future that’s already arriving.

At the heart of Coll Fantasy 2025 is the exhibition “Illustrated Imaginary: the Value of the Cover,” dedicated to the book covers published by Mai Més, an imprint known for its beautifully curated editions of fantasy and science fiction. How do illustrators Ricard Efa, Marina Vidal and Maria Picassó approach their creative process? Come and hear them explain it in person.

Other highlights include a visit to CosmoCaixa (7 November), a basic electronics and soldering workshop (12 November), Magic: The Gathering sessions for all levels (13 November), a book club discussion of Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers (19 November), a children’s workshop on building incredible machines (17–21 November), and the Magic Coll Tournament (22 November).

Feeling adventurous? On 14 November, don’t miss a concert by Eli Gras, a key figure in Barcelona’s experimental music scene, performing at El Coll – La Bruguera in collaboration with Gràcia Territori Sonor. And if you love a good celebration, make sure to join the Freak Party on 22 November, a day dedicated to fantasy and science fiction, with games, cosplay, comics and plenty of creativity for all ages.

If you’d like to experience what makes El Coll – La Bruguera Civic Centre so special, come discover it during Coll Fantasy 2025 — but check the full programme on the website first.
