Primavera Sound

A brand new Primavera Sound is taking over the city

There will be free concerts in Barcelona and a line-up of great names in urban music at  Parc del Fòrum.

There is no doubt that Primavera Sound is one of Barcelona’s most important music festivals which has earned an international reputation. Some of the  most famous artists from around the world have made an appearance  on the stages put up around the city since 2001, and will again this year at  Parc del Fòrum, making this a cultural event that is constantly growing. This year’s line-up surprised audiences because of its shift in direction from previous years, clearly moving towards more urban music. With this change, the festival will welcome artists like Erykah Badu, Interpol, FKA Twigs, Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe, Rosalía, Solange, Stereolab, James Blake, Ivy Queen, Tame Impala, Liz Phair and Pusha T, among many others. All of these concerts will be held from the 30 May to 1 June at the Parc del Fòrum. Plus, on 27, 28 and 29 May and 2 June, different rooms in Apolo will be filled with Primavera als Clubs concerts, which can be entered using the Primavera Sound ticket.

Just like every year, Primavera Sound hosts a large number of free concerts in the city so that everyone can enjoy the festival. The main venue will be the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). That’s where Primavera Pro will be held from 29 May to 2 June for both the general public and professionals, with bands from countries like Chile, South Korea, Italy, Poland, Ireland and Taiwan. On 29 May, Parc del Fòrum will be open to everyone for an open house where bands like Big Red Machine, Cuco, Hatchie, Melenas and Mow will play. On 2 June the closing event will be held at the CCCB, with famous bands like Filthy Friends, Christina Rosenvinge, Cupido, Lil Moss and Aleesha.

The remainder of the one-day tickets start at €80, and passes for all events cost €215; as mentioned above, there will also be free concerts. You can buy tickets on the Primavera Sound website.
