A February with Virginia & The Woolfs, Shakata and Son de la Rambla

At Harlem you can also follow performances by Aisha Fay, La Vooodoo, Chino & The Sharps Swing Band and Aafanboko.

Five out of seven days a week live music is played at the Harlem Jazz Club. This February is no exception and, except on Mondays and Wednesdays, you'll find artists on stage at the venue at number 8, Carrer Comtessa de Sobrediel on any given night.

The programme for the second month of the year is full of regular names in this space. This is the case of the Barcelona soul group Virginia & The Woolfs, led by the singer Virginia Vi, who will perform on the 3rd and 25th, and Son de la Rambla, a septet with more than a decade bringing the most genuine flavour of traditional Cuban music to Harlem. This group will perform on 18 February. Other regulars, Chino & The Sharps Swing Band, will perform their evening focused 100% on swing on the nights of the 4th and 17th. And if you're more of a blues fan, there's no month that's missing in Harlem; for example, you can go to the blues jam sessions offered by Mr Shingles on the 9th, 16th and 23rd of February. Meanwhile, the group Aafanboko, led by drummer and singer Deo Boko, performs their own songs and covers ranging from jazz to rock, including Afro blues and Togo Afro music. They will perform on 26 February. Two days before, on the 24th, it will be the turn of Aisha Fay, a singer and composer who has so far released three songs, and who will offer a concert of soul, funk and pop with her band. Ugne Reikalaité (guitar and vocals) and Naná Rovira (clarinet), two women who love the music of New Orleans and have formed La Vooodoo, will also be performing alone on 5 February, and accompanied by a jazz band five days later. The band Shakata, who will take the stage on the 11th, will be captaining a musical party based on Brazilian, Balkan, Latin and Arabic music.

These and more concerts in an intense February in Harlem. Check out the full programme in this link.
