University of Barcelona Orchestra

The Hall at the UB will be full of music

Choir and classical orchestra concerts in the headquarters of the University of Barcelona until May 2020.

The University of Barcelona often organises cultural events for the general public to take in their facilities. One of the best-loved of these is the University Music Programme, a line-up of performances by various ensembles in the Historic Building, the institution's headquarters, located on Plaça Universitat. Specifically, the concerts are held in the Hall, the most emblematic space in the UB’s main building.

The programme will start off with the Christmas concert, provided by the Orquestra de la Universitat de Barcelona, which will be on 18 and 19 December. The performances will continue on 30 January with the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, on 6 February with the Quintet de Vent of Conservatori Liceu, on 20 February with the UB Philology Faculty Choir. The following months there will be two different events, the first is a concert by the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona, on 5 March, and the second is a performance by the OUB in homage to Beethoven, on 26 and 27 March. Soon after, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the Victoria de Los Ángeles Lied Master's Course on 2 April, ancient music from Schola Cantorum Universitaria Barcinonensis on 16 April and the Coral Jove of Conservatori de Sant Cugat on 30 April. The programme will wind up in May with 5 concerts: Pastoral Universitària on 7 May, Cor de la Universitat de Barcelona on 14 and 15 May, The UB Pharmacy Faculty Choir on 21 May, and everything will finish off with the Orquestra de la Universitat de Barcelona on 28 May. All the concerts will be held at 8 pm in the Hall of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona.

Tickets are free for everyone. You can book yours a few days before each performance on the University of Barcelona website.
