“Quadern Cultura” (Culture Notebook) returns

The project is an initiative of the Barcelona City Council designed to acquaint first-year secondary school students with the city’s cultural and entertainment programme

For yet another year, the Barcelona City Council is distributing Quadern Cultura to first-year secondary school students. This “Culture Notebook” is designed to acquaint young students with the variety of cultural and entertainment offerings available in the city and, beginning on the 29th of September, will be distributed to the homes of all boys and girls born in 2002 who are residents of the city of Barcelona, a total of 12,604 students.

The Culture Notebook, then, is an attempt to encourage first-year secondary school students to, in the company of an adult, make the best of the city’s cultural offerings by including a series of vouchers that can be exchanged in any of the participating institutions. These participating institutions include, among others, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori, the Mercat de les Flors, the Teatre Lliure, the CCCB as well as some of the city’s most important museums. Furthermore, this year’s edition has been extended to include the SAT!, the Ateneu Popular 9Barris, the Museu del Disseny, Cultures del Món and the Museu Etnològic.

The Culture Notebook contains all the necessary information relating to the performances and activities that have been selected for younger audiences and how to make the best use of the invitations. More than 3000 families took part in the initiative last year.
