Arias and duos at the Liceu with Sondra Radvanovsky and Piotr Beczała

Soprano and tenor will perform compositions by Verdi, Giordano, Mascagni and Puccini.

It’s not the first time they have performed together at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Due to the events in recent months related to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, and the fact that many theaters and halls had to close because of the pandemic, the recital on Sunday, September 27th by the soprano Sondra Radvanovsky and the tenor Piotr Beczala will be one of the most special of his career, at least of those who have performed Barcelona. Accompanied on piano by Camillo Radicke, they will perform duets and arias by Giuseppe Verdi, Umberto Giordano, Pietro Mascagni and Giacomo Puccini. That afternoon at the Liceu you will be able to listen to fragments of operas such as La forza del destino, Andrea Chénier, Tosca, Cavalleria rusticana or Un ballo in maschera.

From the Gran Teatre they define Radvanovsky and Beczala as “two of the voices favorite of the high school constellation” and remember his recitals in the operatic temple of La Rambla as "memorable nights, pages that will hardly be forgotten". Trained at the New York Opera at the Lindemann Young Artists Development Program, Sondra Radvanovsky has become a regular singer on The Metropolitan Opera, but has also performed on many other famous stages all over the world. The 2011-2012 season debuted at the Liceu with Aida. Piotr Beczała He was born in Poland, and began his vocal training at the Katowice Academy of Music. He has sung, among many other emblematic places, at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, in the Royal Opera House in London, at The Metropolitan Opera in New York or at the Mariinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg. He sang at the Liceu for the first time the same season as Radvanovsky.
