Torre Baró castle

The reopening of Torre Baró castle

An emblematic building in the Nou Barris District, which has undergone a complete refurbishment of the façade and can be visited with prior reservation.

Torre Baró castle has been closed for a year. Due to the detection of small landslides, and the visible cracks and fissures found in the following analysis, made clear that a reform of the façade was absolutely necessary, although respecting its historical memory, and with the aim of prolonging its useful life. Materials compatible with the original support have been used, thus guaranteeing greater durability and effectiveness of the intervention. The construction dates from the early twentieth century, and has become one of the most emblematic of the Nou Barris District.

Now that it has reopened, it is an excellent time to get to know or rediscover the castle, from which you can also have magnificent views of Barcelona and beyond. Of course: due to the health situation, if you want to visit it you must book in advance by emailing castell_torrebaro@bcn.cat, or by calling 664 044 079. Furthermore, the workshops organised by the facility will be held online. The space remains open for the public.

From the Nou Barris District it is reported that they want to build a timeline of the castle with anecdotes or stories that tell the neighbours. Anyone with a story to share can do so by contacting, until November 30, via the email or phone listed above.
