Sanjosex presents ‘Festival’

The singer from La Bisbal d’Empordà will present his latest release in the Sala Apolo on the 9th of May

Sanjosex have been a long time coming. Four years after “Al marge de un camí”, the singer from La Bisbal returns with a new project, “Festival”, which he will present in the Sala Apolo as part of the programme for another festival, the Guitar Festival BCN.

Carles Sanjosé’s thirteen new songs include elements of both flamenco and African music, almost certainly the result of the singer’s collaboration with Chicuelo as well as his performance in the prestigious Festival au Désert, in Mali, in 2011, before the festival was temporarily cancelled because of the conflict in the northern part of the country.

The new record is produced by Quimi Portet and, as with previous recordings, published by Bankrobber – the independent label founded in 2002 and the home of other artists such as Mazoni, El Petit de Cal Eril and Els Surfing Sirles.

The record was initially presented in the Teatre Municipal de Girona on the 13th of April but the concert on the 9th of May in the Sala Apolo will constitute the official presentation of the record in Barcelona. The performance will begin at 9 pm and tickets are priced at 15 euros. For more information consult the Sala Apolo website.
