Sant Jordi Musical

At Sant Jordi: books… and music too!

The Antiga Fàbrica Damm building will be playing host to a musical celebration featuring live music, four stages and literature-influenced songs

In Catalonia, the ritual for the feast of Sant Jordi inevitably involves giving away roses and books and strolling the streets browsing the book stalls and getting one’s favourite authors to sign their new works. All well and good, but there are other approaches to the celebration such as the musical Sant Jordi on offer at the Antiga Fàbrica Damm. At Sant Jordi Musical Live there will be records on offer as well as books and instead of authors signing their works it’ll be singers. All of this spread around four stages and for around 12 consecutive hours.

With songs assuming the status of literature following Bob Dylan’s Nobel prize (or at least some songs), the Sant Jordi festival is branching out into the world of music. On the different stages will be artists like Blaumunt, Dani Nel·lo, Miqui Puig, Joan Miquel Oliver, Coriolà and Enric Montefusco, as well as DJS and young local pop-folk promises like Pavvla, Cálido Home and Roger Usart.

You will find the full programme on the Antiga Fàbrica Damm website, including record signing times. All of these activities are free of charge.
