Refreshing piano performances on Mondays in August at the Palau de la Música

Daniel Ligorio, Juan Pérez Floristán, Martina Filjak and Evgeny Konnov are just some of the featured musicians.

The piano is the instrument that will try to cool down the atmosphere at the Palau de la Música on Monday nights of August. Daniel Ligorio (5 August), Juan Pérez Floristán (12 August), Martina Filjak (19 August) and Evgeny Konnov will take their turns on the bench at 8 pm in the Concert Hall.

Daniel Ligorio is considered one of the most renowned pianists on the national scene. He will offer a recital entitled Haunted in Paris, featuring compositions by Manuel de Falla and Claude Debussy. A week later, the Art Nouveau stage will be graced by Juan Pérez Floristán, the winner of the Santander Paloma O’Shea 2015 piano competition. The centrepiece of his performance will be Mussorgski’s most famous work, Paintings of an Exhibition, which will be preceded by compositions by Ligeti and Beethoven. The next Monday will feature the winner of the 2008 Maria Canals International Music Competition, Martina Filjak, who will play melodies by Bach, Palestrina and Liszt, among others. Finally, Evgeny Konnov, who won the same contest as Filjak one decade later, will bring compositions by Beethoven, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninof to the Palau de la Música.

All these days, you have the option of paying just a bit more for a guided tour of the Palau an hour and a half before the concert. For more information, click on this link.
