The band Shaki'n All

CaixaForum to host the 'wildest swing'

Throughout April, Shaki'n All will be playing concerts that also feature dancers and jugglers.

"Ready to enjoy the wildest swing?" That’s how CaixaForum Barcelona is inviting us to head for the old Catalan modernist-style modernist Casaramona factory to enjoy the frenetic rhythms of Shaki'n All. The band adds the wild gyrations of dancers and the circus touch of jugglers to the vibrant pace of swing to make for a concert that is more than just a concert, named The Thousand Faces of Swing. The show will be on every Saturday at 6pm and every Sunday at 12 noon until 29 April.

The band is made up of Dani Alonso on the trombone, Juli Aymí on the clarinet, Gerard Nieto on guitar and piano, Queralt Camps on the double bass and Martí Elias on drums, while the dancers are Eva Bret, Laia Puig, Gustav Jakobsson and Igor Cortadellas. Juggling will be by Ramiro Vergaz. The factory building was designed in the 1930s by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and hosts exhibitions. At present you can one on ancient music, another on contemporary art and one on the world of Walt Disney.
